Mount Sunflower - ok, so it's technically not a mountain but it is the highest point in Kansas so that definitely counts for something! Located in Western, Kansas near the Colorado border lies a place to catch one of those gorgeous sunsets we provide here in the Midwest.
Info:
-Elevation; 4,039 feet and yes you can drive there
-Located on the Harold Family Ranch (a memorial is there for Edward & Elizabeth who homesteaded the ranch in 1905) - please remember to respect the property
-There is a covered picnic table, metal sculptures, a guest book for you to sign, and the cutest free little library
-And last but not least, that sunset and views for miles
Location: Mt Sunflower (don't worry, it's easy to get to, just follow google maps and look for the mount sunflower sign)
