Waterfalls In Kansas

Updated: Aug 8, 2021

Say what? Kansas has waterfalls? Yes We Do! They may not be the tallest or have the most water flowing through, but they are still worth a stop to see!

1. Prather Creek Falls aka Chase Creek Falls located near Cottonwood Falls, Kansas.

This hidden little gem requires very little effort to enjoy! Park next to the dam on the North side of the lake and walk across - take your first left and follow the trail and most likely you will hear the falls before seeing them. When I visited in the spring, we were the only people there!

2. Geary Lake Falls - located near Junction City, Kansas.

This is an easy google find - park at the Northeast end of the lake and walk across the dam. From there take the trail to the right where you can see the falls from above and head down further to see the lower section of the falls! The one does flow a bit more at times - we were there with it just trickling but still a cool place to visit!

3. Deep Creek Falls at Pillsbury Crossing, located near Manhattan, Kansas.

Pillsbury Crossing is a low water river crossing that most cars can drive across - usually the water crossing is only a few inches deep but be safe if you decide to cross! There is parking on each side of the crossing and the falls are located right here! They are 60 feet in width and about 5 feet tall but are a site to see. People come in the summertime to fish, hike, or canoe. Primitive camping is allowed at the Wildlife area but only my permit.
